Utah St. corner Marsh works out for Ravens

OWINGS MILLS -- Utah State cornerback Curtis Marsh has conducted a private workout with the Baltimore Ravens.

He also has visits with the Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers and the Miami Dolphins.

He has also had private workouts for the Steelers, Oakland Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs and the Ravens.

He's regarded as a third-round draft target by analysts, but could go as high as the second round.

NFL teams have been impressed with his recovery speed, athleticism, technique and intelligence.

The 6-foot-1, 197-pounder ran the 40-yard dash between 4.37 and 4.42 seconds at the NFL scouting combine, registering a 37 1/2 inch vertical leap, a 10-03 broad jump and bench pressed 225 pounds 12 times. His 10-yard split was 1.59 seconds.

Marsh was invited to the Senior Bowl, but injured his hamstring the first day he got there and was unable to participate.

Marsh played well against Boise State star wide receivers Titus Young and Austin Pettis last season.

Last season, the second-team All-Western Athletic Conference selection knocked down 13 passes and intercepted two passes. He recorded 45 tackles, one for a loss.

As a junior, he had 32 tackles with five pass deflections, one interception and one blocked kick.

As a sophomore, he played running back and rushed for 185 yards and two touchdowns with 12 receptions for 114 yards and one touchdown.

  • 5/24/12: For now, the Ravens are primarily having Paul Kruger lined up at Suggs' rush outside linebacker spot.
  • 5/24/12: Rookie 2nd round pick Kelechi Osemele took the majority of the first-string repetitions at left guard with Jah Reid rotating in at tackle.
