Troy Smith signs $1.101 million restricted tender

OWINGS MILLS -- Baltimore Ravens backup quarterback Troy Smith has signed his one-year, $1.101 million restricted free agent tender.

Smith was assigned an original round low tender.

Drafted in the fifth round out of Ohio State, the former Heisman Trophy winner has been seeking a trade. However, that wish hasn't materialized into anything concrete.

The Cleveland native had repeatedly lobbied for a trade through his former agent, Ralph Cindrich.

He recently switched representation, hiring Cleveland-based agent Neil Cornrich.

Aaron Wilson covers the Baltimore Ravens for the Carroll County Times and the Annapolis Capital.

  • 5/24/12: Rookie 2nd round pick Kelechi Osemele took the majority of the first-string repetitions at left guard with Jah Reid rotating in at tackle.
