OWINGS MILLS - Running back Toby Gerhart is already familiar with the Harbaugh family having played for Jim Harbaugh at Stanford.

Later this month, Gerhart will get further acquainted with John Harbaugh when he visits the Baltimore Ravens.

Gerhart is visiting the Philadelphia Eagles today and Wednesday. He has previously visited the San Diego Chargers and has conducted a private workout for the New York Jets.

Winning the Doak Walker award as the nation's top running back last season, Gerhart rushed for 1,871 yards and 27 touchdowns. Gerhart ran the 40-yard dash in 4.55 seconds at the NFL scouting combine and also registered a 38-inch vertical leap.

The Heisman Trophy finalist also scored the highest Wonderlic score among the running backs, scoring a 30. He also bench pressed 225 pounds 22 times.

Gerhart has been mentioned as a fullback candidate, but he envisions himself playing running back in the NFL.

"I see myself as a running back at the next level," Gerhart said. "If that is asked of me I'll do it. The team's above all else. But I firmly believe that I have the skill set to play running back at the next level."

Meanwhile, Ravens wide receivers coach Jim Hostler attended former Syracuse wide receiver Mike Williams' Pro Day workout on Monday in Buffalo. Williams has previously visited the Ravens.

Hostler oversaw the route-running drills.

The 6-foot-2, 212-pounder ran the 40-yard dash in 4.53 seconds, also turning in a 4.17 short shuttle and a 6.74 three-cone drill. He recorded a 36 1/2 inch vertical leap, a 9-10 broad jump and an 11.63 60-yard shuttle.

Among the other teams that attended the workout: the Packers, Buccaneers, Bills, Browns and Chargers.

Williams caught 49 passes for 746 yards and six touchdowns last season before leaving the program. He is projected as a second-round pick.

"It was an improvement," Williams told Buffalo reporters. "I showed them that I'm staying in shape and I'm still running."

Williams addressed his departure from the Syracuse program.

"I made some mistakes," he said. "I've got to learn from my mistakes and make up for it," he said.

NOTE: Veteran kicker Neil Rackers, who had talked to the Ravens, signed with the Houston Texans on Monday. That leaves Shayne Graham as the top kicker on the market. He met with Ravens officials during the NFL owners meetings. The Ravens would like to sign a kicker to compete with incumbent Billy Cundiff, a restricted free agent assigned a $1.1 million tender.
