OWINGS MILLS -- The Baltimore Ravens conducted a private workout Tuesday with University of Delaware quarterback Joe Flacco.

The 6-foot-6, 237-pound senior worked out at the Delaware campus in front of a large contingent of Ravens personnel, including offensive coordinator Cam Cameron, quarterbacks coach Hue Jackson, wide receivers coach Jim Hostler and several executives and scouts.

Flacco's footwork and arm strength were impressive during the workout, according to Scout.com. Flacco reportedly delivered one pass 60 yards on the fly while standing still.

The Ravens are expected to host Flacco for an official visit prior to the draft.

Flacco is considered one of the fastest-rising draft prospects and is regarded as a potential late first-round or early second-round target. The Ravens' second-round pick is No. 38 overall.

The Ravens also attended a private workout for Troy State cornerback Leodis McKelvin.

Meanwhile, the agent for Philadelphia Eagles free agent cornerback William James said that he has held preliminary discussions with Baltimore team officials.

James is scheduled to visit the Buffalo Bills today, but hasn't scheduled a visit with the Ravens.

NOTE: Former Ravens wide receiver Devard Darling signed a three-year, $5 million contract with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Drafted in the third round by Baltimore in 2004, Darling caught 20 career passes for 331 yards and three touchdowns.

Aaron Wilson covers the Baltimore Ravens for the Carroll County Times and the Annapolis Capital.

  • 5/24/12: Rookie 2nd round pick Kelechi Osemele took the majority of the first-string repetitions at left guard with Jah Reid rotating in at tackle.
