The Beat with Aaron Wilson - Ravens to watch Louisville's Brohm bring it

OWINGS MILLS -- The Baltimore Ravens will hold a private workout and visit with Louisville quarterback Brian Brohm next month.

Brohm will hold a Pro Day on Monday at the Louisville campus and has scheduled workouts and visits with Baltimore, the Atlanta Falcons, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Minnesota Vikings as well as several other NFL franchises.

The Ravens are expected to meet with Brohm on April 15 or April 16 at their training complex.

Brohm was once regarded as the top quarterback available, but his stock has dipped and he's now graded as a potential late first-round or early second-round target for teams that aren't able to draft Boston College quarterback Matt Ryan in the first round.

The 6-foot-2, 225-pound senior passed for 4,024 yards, 30 touchdowns and 11 interceptions as a senior, but the Cardinals had a disappointing 6-6 campaign. For his career, Brohm passed for 71 touchdowns and 24 interceptions.

Some draft analysts now rate Brohm behind Ryan and strong-armed Delaware quarterback Joe Flacco, who had a private workout with Ravens offensive coordinator Cam Cameron, quarterbacks coach Hue Jackson and wide receivers coach Jim Hostler last week.

"I feel like I’m the top guy," Brohm told reporters. "I feel like I've got the complete package: athleticism, arm strength, knowledge of the game, accuracy. Obviously, I’m not the top guy in all of those categories, but overall I feel like I'm the top guy out of all of them."

NOTE: Fullback Justin Green signed his $927,000 low restricted tender, and running back Cory Ross signed his exclusive-rights free agent deal expected to be worth $520,000.

Aaron Wilson covers the Baltimore Ravens for the Carroll County Times and the Annapolis Capital.

  • 5/24/12: For now, the Ravens are primarily having Paul Kruger lined up at Suggs' rush outside linebacker spot.
  • 5/24/12: Rookie 2nd round pick Kelechi Osemele took the majority of the first-string repetitions at left guard with Jah Reid rotating in at tackle.
