Ravens interview mid - late round prospects

OWINGS MILLS - University of Cincinnati offensive tackle Jeff Linkenbach and South Dakota State linebacker Danny Batten visited the Baltimore Ravens earlier this week.

Linkenbach has previously conducted private workouts for Chicago Bears offensive line coach Mike Tice and the Miami Dolphins.

He is scheduled to visit the Indianapolis Colts and the Bears in April.

Linkenbach was a second-team All-Big East selection.

Not invited to the NFL scouting combine, Linkenbach is a 6-foot-6, 312-pound blocker who is projected as a late-round draft pick.

Buzz is growing about Batten, who worked out for a dozen teams over the weekend in Arizona. Three linebacker coaches attended the session.

The 6-foot-2, 244-pounder did everything except for the bench press after turning in 30 repetitions of 225 pounds at his Pro Day workout.

Batten, who's projected as a middle to later-round draft target, has also drawn interest from the Bears.

NFL scouts clocked Batten in the 40-yard dash between 4.66 and 4.72 seconds.

He turned in a 7.04 three-cone drill, a 35-inch vertical leap, 10-03 broad jump and performed positional drills.

He recorded 85 tackles, nine sacks and 17 tackles for losses last season.

Batten excelled during the Texas vs. the Nation all-star game.

He's regarded as a 3-4 outside linebacker prospect and a defensive end for some 4-3 teams like the Bears.

NOTE: Ravens wide receivers coach Jim Hostler attended the workout for Oklahoma State wide receiver Dez Bryant... The Ravens also attended the Pro Day workouts for UCLA defensive tackle Brian Price and South Florida defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul and defensive backs Nate Allen and Jerome Murphy.
