OWINGS MILLS -- The Baltimore Ravens have agreed to a one-year deal with veteran safety Ken Hamlin, a former Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks starter.

Along with Ken Lucas and Walt Haris, Hamlin auditioned for the Ravens at their final passing camp.

The Cowboys cut Hamlin in April. He was due a $5.596 million base salary this year.

Last season, he recorded 74 tackles, four pass deflections and no interceptions while missing four games with a high ankle sprain.

Hamlin was cut two seasons into a six-year, $39 million contract.

His lone Pro Bowl berth was in 2007 with the Seahawks when he registered a career-high 102 tackles and five interceptions.

The Ravens also released the following players: safeties Ashton Hall and Brad Jones, center Daniel Sanders and cornerback Courtney Smith and defensive lineman John Fletcher.
