OWINGS MILLS – Baltimore Ravens rookie offensive tackle Ramon Harewood’s patience has been tested as he continues to recuperate from an injury to his right knee suffered last month.

The sixth-round draft pick from Morehouse incurred soft tissue damage.

Although Harewood has returned to individual drills, he hasn’t been cleared medically for next week’s passing camp.

“I feel a lot better,” Harewood said. “I have decent range of motion back. I can put weight on it now. We’re just waiting until it’s 100 percent. I don’t think it’s quite there yet.”

The 6-foot-6, 341-pound Barbados native has been putting in extra time rehabilitating his knee and studying his playbook, remaining at the Ravens’ training complex until 5:30 p.m. every day to go over the plays with offensive line coaches John Matsko and Andy Moeller.

“It’s easy to learn it in the classroom,” said Harewood, an honors student at Morehouse. “It’s different under fire on the field. I guess that’s what the biggest setback for me. I’ve been in the books. I’m doing what I need to do. Right now, it’s a little bit of hard work and perseverance.”

ANOTHER QB TRYOUT: The Ravens brought in undrafted Texas State quarterback Bradley George for an audition at their rookie minicamp, the second quarterback to try out this week.

The 6-foot-6, 223-pounder was called by the Ravens on Wednesday and arrived at airport in Baltimore at 1 a.m. before getting to work at team headquarters at 6:30 a.m. after getting a few hours of sleep.

"I'm a little tired right now," George said. "It's exciting to be here, so I'm working on adrenaline."

The Ravens plan to only have George at Friday's practice after George split snaps with former Holy Cross quarterback Dominic Randolph, who's also trying out, during Thursday’s workout. Randolph has reached his limit on tryout days.

George said he doesn't know yet if he'll be invited to next week's passing camp.

George is Texas State's career leader in passing yards (9,556) touchdowns (76) completions (753) attempts (1,277) total yards of offense (9,798) and passing efficiency with a 136.0 rating.

Last season, George was named the Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Year as he passed for 3,121 yards.

George had a tryout in April with the Seattle Seahawks.

"I just want to show the coaches what I can do," George said. "I want to get my foot in the door."

The Ravens usually only carry three quarterbacks on the roster, including the offseason.

QUICK HITS: The Ravens didn’t extend June 1 tenders to cornerbacks Frank Walker and Corey Ivy, tight end L.J. Smith and wide receivers Kelley Washington and David Tyree, so they remain unrestricted free agents. … Walker and former Ravens wide receiver Devard Darling were drafted by the Omaha Nighthawks, a UFL expansion team. Walker indicated on his Twitter account that he doesn’t plan to play in the UFL this year and will instead wait for another NFL opportunity.
