Three downs with Chris McAlister
1. On the Ravens’ top-ranked defense: “Just continue to go out and win football games, and when it's all said and done, we'll be able to look back and say that we finished No. 1 and are the top-ranked defense. 
 
“At any point in time, you can take our whole defense and put it out there and play a Pro Bowl."

2. On the Ravens being underestimated by the NFL: “That's fine.  If they want to sit there and overlook us, overlook us.  I'm pretty sure Pittsburgh is not sitting back at their facility, saying: 'Don't worry about the Ravens; we're supposed to beat them.' People that we go up against know that it's not going to be easy playing the Ravens."

3. On the Steelers’ home-field advantage at Heinz Field: "Kansas City never lost in how long at home during December in their stadium?  It doesn't matter where we play, we've just got to show up and play football.

“How desperate they are and what we are fighting for,  which is trying to find some way to secure some type of home-field advantage, it's what we want.  I don't think that they will have anything more to fight for than we do."
 
Three downs with Bill Cowher
1. On the 27-0 loss in Baltimore: “Certainly you'd like to make sure that your efforts show a little bit more than what happened last time. 
 
“I think certainly we were, to a degree, embarrassed by what took place.  But it happened and we've got to do now is concentrate on our preparations and seize the opportunity we have this weekend."

2. On whether his unresolved status is a distraction: “It's not a distraction. It will be done after the season.  We'll just leave it at that.  I'm not ready to get into too much.  I've talked already enough about that stuff."

3. On being teammates with Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome in Cleveland long ago: “Any time I come off the practice field, I either see the drive or the fumble on TV. I remember so many great catches that he made and playing with him on that 1980 team: ‘The Kardiac Kids.’

“ Ozzie is a special man.  He has worked his way up and you can see the kind of work he's done.  He's very well respected around the National Football League. He’s been at every level, and I think that he's a class act."
