OWINGS MILLS -- The Baltimore Ravens have scheduled Wingate College cornerback David Jones for a visit.
Jones is a Division II All-American who was snubbed when he wasn’t invited to the NFL scouting combine. He did manage to excel at the Hula Bowl as the lone participant that didn’t attend a Division I university.
Despite being avoided by fearful quarterbacks as he dominated a lower level of competition during four seasons at his private North Carolina college, Jones intercepted 15 passes.
The 5-foot-11, 193-pounder ran a 4.50 at his Pro Day. He's generally regarded as a strong developmental prospect.
A high hurdler on the track team, Jones only played two seasons of high school football.
