RAVENS RETAIN ELLISON
OWINGS MILLS -- The Baltimore Ravens retained exclusive-rights free agent defensive tackle Atiyyah Ellison, signing the former Missouri lineman to his one-year tender.

Ellison, a 6-foot-3, 318-pounder, was promoted to the active roster in December after spending the majority of the season on the Ravens' practice squad. He finished the season on injured reserve with a shoulder injury.

Ellison, 26, has prior stints with the Houston Texans and Carolina Panthers after being drafted by Carolina in the third round of the 2005 NFL draft.

Meanwhile, the Ravens tried out former Central Florida offensive guard Steve Edwards, but didn't immediately sign him to a contract.

NOTES: Ravens tight end Daniel Wilcox will host a celebrity paintball tournament today at Paintball Adventures in Taneytown between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Proceeds from the fundraiser go toward Wilcox's charitable foundation and two summer enrichment programs.
