OWINGS MILLS -- Ohio State star running back Chris “Beanie” Wells is scheduled to visit the Baltimore Ravens' training complex today after arriving Monday, according to his agent.

Wells also has visits planned with the Seattle Seahawks, San Diego Chargers, Arizona Cardinals, Cincinnati Bengals and the Denver Broncos.

At 6-foot-1, 235 pounds, Wells has outstanding speed. He was timed in a surprisingly fast 4.38 to 4.4 range in the 40-yard dash at his campus workout. Some NFL teams clocked Wells as fast as 4.34 seconds at his Pro Day.

Wells registered a 33 1/2 inch vertical leap, a 10-8 broad jump and bench pressed 225 pounds 25 times at the NFL scouting combine.

An All-Big Ten Conference selection, Wells was hampered last season by several injuries that included toe, foot, concussion and hamstring problems as he gained 1,197 yards and scored eight touchdowns.

As a junior, Wells rushed for 1,609 yards and 15 touchdowns.

The All-Big Ten Conference running back rushed for 3,382 career yards and scored 30 touchdowns in three seasons, but wasn't used much as a receiver out of the backfield. He caught 15 career passes for 84 yards.

In terms of playing style, Wells has drawn comparisons to Cleveland Browns running back Jamal Lewis.
