OWINGS MILLS - Baltimore Ravens injured rookie linebacker Sergio Kindle is scheduled to travel to Baltimore for a medical exam next week when medical officials will examine his fractured skull, according to the team.
Kindle disclosed on his Twitter account that he'll travel to Baltimore by the end of next week.
“At the end of next week im back in baltimore!" Kindle wrote. "Its gone feel good too! King Serg."
The former University of Texas star got hurt last month when he fell down two flights of stairs at a house in Austin, Texas, and was sidelined for the entire training camp.
The Dallas native is still expected to begin the season on the physically unable to perform list and could be out for the whole season because of the nature and severity of the injury. The Ravens also have the option of designating Kindle on the non-football injury list.
The Ravens have yet to sign Kindle, who was drafted 43rd overall, to a contract because they want to gauge his immediate and long-term health before making a major financial commitment.
The two picks above and below Kindle received signing bonuses of $1.76 million (Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski) and $1.675 million (Raiders defensive lineman Lamarr Houston).
The former All-Big 12 pass rusher was hospitalized at University Medical Center Brackenridge before being transferred to a rehab hospital in Dallas, which coach John Harbaugh said during camp was a positive sign. Harbaugh has also said previously that Kindle is in good spirits.
Kindle has provided a few updates on his status, saying he's been jogging and has felt well enough to attend church.
