OWINGS MILLS -- Baltimore Ravens star free safety Ed Reed withdrew from the Pro Bowl because of at least three known injuries and was replaced by Pittsburgh Steelers safety Ryan Clark.

Reed, 33, is dealing with a collection of ailments, including: a nerve impingement in his neck, a shoulder issue and a sprained left ankle.

Despite being banged-up, Reed recorded six tackles and a playoff career-high four pass deflections with one interception against the Houston Texans.

During the regular season, Reed intercepted three passes with 53 tackles, one sack, , one forced fumble and eight pass deflections.

The former NFL Defensive Player of the Year isn't the only Raven not playing in the Pro Bowl, joining outside linebacker Terrell Suggs (undisclosed), defensive tackle Haloti Ngata (thigh) and running back Ray Rice (family reasons).

Suggs was replaced by Steelers outside linebacker James Harrison and Ngata was replaced by Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Paul Soliai.

The Ravens' players that are still slated to play in the annual NFL all-star game: middle linebacker Ray Lewis, fullback Vonta Leach and offensive guards Marshal Yanda and Ben Grubbs.

A Pro Bowl alternate, Grubbs replaced Super Bowl bound New England Patriots offensive guard Logan Mankins.
