The Beat with Aaron Wilson - Charges dismissed against former Ravens lineman Orlando Brown

Written By:

OWINGS MILLS -- Former Baltimore Ravens offensive tackle Orlando "Zeus" Brown picked up a legal victory in Baltimore County Circuit Court as fourth-degree burglary and malicious destruction of property chargers were dismissed against him, according to court documents.

Both charges were misdemeanors. He was originally charged with third-degree burglary, which is a felony.

The former NFL player was accused by his ex-wife, Mira Brown, of entering her Cockeysville home in August while she was traveling for a vacation.

According to court records, Mira Brown accused her ex-husband of breaking her front storm door, entering the home, tearing down basement curtains, ransacked a closet and defecating in a basement toilet and leaving it unflushed.

Mira Brown stated that she received a pair of text messages from Orlando Brown's phone with one noting that he had "toured" the house, which is for sale and in foreclosure.

Orlando Brown and Mira Brown have been divorced since 2004.

Orlando Brown has been retired from the NFL since 2006. He owns a Fatburger franchise in Elkridge.

Brown was represented in the case by Maryland attorney Andrew Alperstein.

Aaron Wilson covers the Baltimore Ravens for the Carroll County Times and the Annapolis Capital.
