The Beat with Aaron Wilson - Brendon Ayanbadejo has minor leg procedure

Written By:
BALTIMORE - Baltimore Ravens special-teams ace Brendon Ayanbadejo had a minor procedure on his leg a few days ago to attempt to accelerate the healing process of the quadriceps tendon that he tore last October against the New England Patriots.
Ayanbadejo remains on the physically unable to perform list after having a plasma injection in Arizona earlier this week.

"Yeah, it's doing good," Ayanbadejo said.. "I just went to Arizona and had a procedure done. I missed the last couple of days. I'm supposed to be off of it for a week or so. It feels better now than it has ever felt before.

"You do plasma injections, a common thing. They enriched it with some amino acids to help build and heal tissues. It's a good procedure. I feel good."

The Pro Bowl special teams selection had his quadriceps tendon surgically repaired by Dr. James Andrews.

However, it remains unclear when the inside linebacker will be ready to run down the field and cover a kickoff.

"It's going to be ready when it's ready," Ayanbadejo said. "Coach [John] Harbaugh wants me ready before the first game and I want to be ready tomorrow. I want to be ready yesterday, but it's going to be ready when it's ready. I can't put a timetable on it. I don't know if it's one, two, three or four games."
