The Beat with Aaron Wilson - A Hawkeye sets his sights on Baltimore

Christian Ballard visits the Ravens
Written By:

OWINGS MILLS -- Iowa defensive lineman Christian Ballard visited the Baltimore Ravens. The 6-foot-4, 286-pounder is coming off a strong Pro Day campus workout where he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.7 seconds and registered a 34-inch vertical leap and a 9-7 broad jump.

He also turned in a 4.56 short shuttle and a 7.23 in the three-cone drill.

Ballard excelled at the Senior Bowl, dominating pass rush drills. He’s regarded as a late first-round pick or second-round draft target.

An honorable-mention All-Big Ten selection, Ballard started every game at either tackle or end and 39 consecutive games over the past three seasons. As a junior, he finished with 5 1/2 sacks and 54 tackles. As a sophomore, Ballard had 40 tackles.
