Cardinals, with their victory Sunday over the Rams, the Cardinals clinched the NFC West, giving them at least one home playoff game, this will be the franchise’s first home post season game since they hosted the NFL championship game on December 20, 1947, when they were the Chicago Cardinals, they beat the Philadelphia Eagles 28-21 before 30,759 fans at Comisky Park to win their last title. ...Falcons, Matt Ryan’s success this season has been based on his ability to spread the ball around, while wide receiver Roddy White will certainly be a Pro Bowler, Michael Jenkins, rookie Harry Douglas, and Brian Finneran have all contributed to keep defenses from doubling their coverage on White….Ravens, have beaten the Steelers 5 consecutive games in Baltimore…

Panthers, with their win Monday night, NFC South teams are 24-2 at home this year, the Panthers host the Broncos this week, then finish the season at the Giants and then face the Saints, an NFC South rival on the road....Cowboys, even if running back Marion Barber returns this week to play against the Giants, which he should, Tashard Choice will get 10-16 carries….Broncos, with running back Peyton Hills’ season ending injury, the Broncos will start Tatum Bell this week at Carolina, Selvin Young could see some action but will not be at full strength….Lions, Daunte Culpepper will probably miss this week’s game at the Colts and possibly the rest of the season with an injured shoulder, Dan Orlovsky should get the start at quarterback, after the Colts they have the Saints, then the Packers, 0-16 appears to be a real possibility,  Lee Roy Selmon and Steve Spurrier will be rooting for them to lose, they were 2 of the best known members of the 0-14 1976 Tampa Bay Buccaneers….Jaguars, wide receiver Matt Jones will be suspended for the rest of the season….Dolphins,  they have the 49ers this week, then at the Chiefs and finish at the Meadowlands against the Jets, that game could decide the AFC East title, making them possibly the first team to win only one game one year then win their division the next season….

Vikings, no word on who the starting quarterback this week will be when they play the Cardinals, the injured Gus Frerotte or Tarvaris Jackson, Jackson was 8 for ten passing for over one hundred yards and threw for the winning score in relief of Frerotte last week…. Patriots,  when Bill Belichick turns in his injury report to the league this week he will be presenting his first accurate report, after years of listing most of his roster on the report each week, this year they really are hurt, only 5 of the opening day defensive starters are healthy, they have brought back linebackers Junior Seau and Roosevelt Colvin for depth, they could miss the playoffs, making them the first team to go unbeaten in the regular season one year then miss the playoffs the next since the 1935 Chicago Bears…. Eagles, Hank Baskett will start at wide receiver if Kevin Curtis is not able to play this week, he suffered a concussion against the Giants….49ers, TE Vernon Davis was patted on the back this week by head coach Mike Singletary, stating that Davis had the best game blocking that he has ever seen by a TE,  quarterback Shaun Hill continues to play well, he has 11 touchdowns in his last 5 starts….Redskins, tackle Chris Samuels, who has appeared in 5 Pro Bowls was lost for the season , he tore his tricep against the Ravens Sunday.
