NFL News, Notes, Rumors & Opinion - CBA UPDATE: "Momentum has seriously slowed"

Written By:

Labor talks continued today in Manhattan between the owners and the players, but were reportedly not very productive as little progress was made on pivotal issues.

According to NFL Network, negotiations aren't scheduled to relaunch until Monday as far as face-to-face discussions.

Per the report, both sides will continue to speak over the weekend. However, "movement has slowed seriously."

"The talks have recessed for the day," league spokesman Greg Aiello wrote on his Twitter account. "Negotiations will continue."

Meanwhile, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals ruling that allows the lockout to remain in place contained a loophole that would allow the players to seek an injunction asking for free agency to begin.

That would be decided by District Court Judge Susan Richard Nelson, whose ruling on ending the lockout was overruled by the higher court.

According to NFL Network, the NFLPA could seek that injunction if there's not a new collective bargaining agreement soon.

It's unclear if the NFL would be able to appeal that kind of injunction to the Eighth Circuit if Nelson ruled in the players' favor.
