You know who you are.
It started last season when you began to boo the home team. Then you cheered when Kyle Boller was injured during Game 1. Then you booed the coach when he decided to kill the first half clock and sit on a 6-0 lead against the Jets. And now you cheer the injury of an official?
How much worse will it get?
You probably think it’s your God given right to boo or cheer whatever or whomever you please when you pay the price of admission. Perhaps you are right. After all, last time I checked this is still America. And if you want, you can allow your kids to disrespect authority or mouth off to adults. You have that choice.
Now I’m sure when the Ravens lost their collective heads last week against the Lions, you were calling out for some sort of punishment. How could they behave that way without consequence? Surely Brian Billick, Ozzie Newsome, Steve Bisciotti and Mayor O’Malley had to figure out a way of making the guilty parties pay.
Boooooooooooo!
You said it again when the Ravens decided to do the sportsmanlike thing and take a knee at the end of yesterday’s game. Boo! Screw good sportsmanship you said. You wanted another touchdown. After all, you don’t get to see many and who cares what the Browns think, who cares what Romeo Crennel thinks – just score again. You wanted another score. Boo!
Boo the home team, cheer when your home team’s quarterback is injured – the same quarterback that has a well developed sense of what it means to be a good teammate – the same player that has an outstanding work ethic shaped from being raised in a family of fire fighters. You know, that guy. Boo good sportsmanship and then while you’re at it, cheer when an official falls to an injury.
Terrell Owens, Warren Sapp, Randy Moss, Bill Romanowski, Fred Smoot, Joey Porter – you boo all of them for their lack of class don’t you? Yet you are no different. How embarrassing it is to sit among you. What a fine example you set for the youth of your community. Oh that's right, how could I forget...boo that and them too!
Class is defined as “elegance in dress or behavior.” Certainly that is a class you missed in school.
You know who you are.
