Ravens pull even

AFC North Week 11

Quotes of note from week #10 in the AFC North:

"We let them throw the ball over our head, couldn\'t tackle and let the game get away," Browns Coach Romeo Crennel said. "It\'s disappointing that your defense can\'t do some simple things and does some other things poorly. A 93-yard touchdown pass should never happen -- ever."

"We can still grow immensely," Ravens Quarterback Joe Flacco said. "We\'re getting better and better each week. Our main goal is to improve each week and hit our stride right when it counts most."

"You\'ll never hear me say \'I\' anything, but I lost this game," said Steelers Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who appeared to be crying into a towel when reporters entered the locker room. "I take it on myself. I let the guys down on offense and defense. It hurts, but we\'ll learn from it."

Week #10 Scores in the AFC North

Baltimore       41        Houston          13

Denver           34        Cleveland        30

Indianapolis    24        Pittsburgh       20

Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens have won four straight; rookie Joe Flacco is showing the poise of a veteran and Ray Lewis looks as good as ever. Scary thing is; the Ravens think they can get much better. Flacco threw two touchdowns and Lewis had a pair of interceptions to lead the Ravens to a 41-13 victory over the Houston Texans on Sunday. The Ravens have scored at least 27 points in a team-record four consecutive games. Sunday was the first time they\'ve scored more than 40 points on the road since 1999. Flacco was 15-of-23 for 185 yards and threw touchdowns to Yamon Figurs and Todd Heap, keeping his composure despite being under heavy pressure most of the day. Willis McGahee returned after missing the previous game with an ankle injury to run for 112 yards and two touchdowns. His second score came on a 4-yard run in the fourth quarter set up by an interception by Samari Rolle. With their sixth victory, the Ravens have eclipsed last season\'s win total. Lewis\' first interception came in the third quarter and his second one led to Heap\'s second touchdown, a 14-yard pass delivered by Troy Smith to make it 34-13 with about seven minutes left. Baltimore registered a safety courtesy of rookie Duane Brown\'s end zone holding penalty while attempting to thwart Terrell Suggs’ efforts to take down Sage Rosenfels.

Cincinnati Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals had their bye in week #10.

Cleveland Browns

The Denver Broncos, a long-time Browns’ nemesis, have beaten Cleveland eight straight times. Brady Quinn threw two TD passes to Kellen Winslow and went 23-of-35 for 239 yards, but thought he could have done more. "I told everyone, this one is flat on me," Quinn said. "I know I am good enough that I can make a play at the end and win. I felt comfortable out there, it\'s my home away from home." Quinn had one last chance, getting the ball back with 1:10 remaining with the Browns trailing 34-30. The former Notre Dame star who waited 25 games to take over Cleveland\'s offense, completed a 9-yard pass to Winslow on first down before two incompletions gave him no margin for error. On fourth down, Quinn whipped a high pass to Winslow that sailed through the hands of the Pro Bowl tight end. "I just can\'t get that last play out of my head," Winslow said. "The great ones, the legends make those plays. That\'s where I want to be and I\'m going to take it as a lesson." The Browns had a season-high 160 yards rushing, but Jamal Lewis was curiously not on the field when the Browns had their last chance to win the game. Instead of trying to pick up a yard and a half needed on both third and fourth down, the Browns threw the ball and ultimately their opportunity away.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Pittsburgh lost to a Manning-led team at home for the second time in three weeks despite leading 20-17 on Jeff Reed\'s 24-yard field goal midway through the fourth quarter. They were beaten by Eli Manning\'s Giants 21-14 on Oct. 26, again after a fourth-quarter comeback. The Steelers had a chance to win at the end, but Ben Roethlisberger\'s pass into the end zone on the final play -- with Nate Washington open briefly -- was intercepted by Melvin Bullitt. The Steelers opened an early double digit lead; then tried to hold on, which has become somewhat of a pattern in their series versus the Colts. In this one, a lucky tip and Roethlisberger\'s haste to try to get points when Pittsburgh wasn\'t in position to score late in the first half helped get the Colts back into the game after Pittsburgh led 7-0 and 17-7. All three of Roethlisberger\'s interceptions were pivotal. Pittsburgh drove 62 yards for Mewelde Moore\'s 1-yard touchdown run on its opening possession. Roethlisberger, playing despite a separated shoulder that kept him out of practice until Friday, came back to complete two passes on third-and-long situations on a 77-yard drive ended by Moore\'s second 1-yard TD run. Jeff Reed later hit a 42-yard field goal to make it 17-7. Rather than trying to preserve the lead, Roethlisberger forced a throw into tight coverage on third-and-2 from his 16 and Keiwan Ratliff intercepted at the Pittsburgh 30 with 1:24 left in the half leading to a Colts touchdown and a 3 point lead at halftime.
