If you want to win your league, spend five minutes each week with Fantasy Blitz, where we deliver a rapid fire tour around the NFL highlighting the sleepers who will score and the elite players who will not each week.

Thursday Special, the 90th NFL Season is here…

For this first week, the defensive rankings are from the end of the 2008 regular season

NOTE: Always consider the defensive statistics when setting your line up

Titans at Steelers, Over- Under 34.5

Titans, Steelers defense v. run 2nd, v. pass 1st

Chris Johnson and LenDale White combined for 117 yards and 2 rushing scores in 2008’s week 16 game against the Steelers, you can expect about half of that production in this game, the most you can hope for  this week is 60 rushing yards for Johnson and a short White touchdown plunge with little yardage…Kerry Collins will have to throw more than he will want, he has little fantasy value this year, but wide receiver Justin Gage had 100 yards receiving and a score in last year’s game, he had a great preseason and with Nate Washington hurting, Gage has even more value here, consider him as a flex player this week.

Steelers, Titans defense, v. run 6th, v. pass 9th

Willie Parker is back and healthy, he will start and there is no committee here, opening day 2008 in Pittsburgh against a weak Houston defense he had 138 rushing yards and three scores, the Titans are better than Houston but not as good as they were in 2008,  Parker will be able to run wide and gain a hundred yards or more and cross the goal line at least once….Ben Roethlisberger has limited value this week, he will attempt less than 20 passes but will take some shots downfield, Santonio Holmes has the most value of any Steelers receiver this week, look for him to score on a long pass.
