LET'S GET IT ON!
The Ravens practiced this morning jerseys and shorts as they went through a light albeit a crisp and spirited work out.  The players are ready for the preseason opener against the Giants tomorrow.

Jonathan Ogden was in attendance and working out on the sidelines in t-shirt and shorts along with his brother Marques and conditioning coach Jeff Friday.  Some might read into Marques’ presence as an indication that the team is looking to replace the injured Brian Rimpf (no official word yet on Rimpf but we’ve seen this protective behavior before as recently as last season with Dan Cody.)  More than likely, this was simply a kind brotherly act during a difficult period.

B.J. Ward was held out of practice and was seen along the sidelines in sunglasses.  Word is his eyes are sensitive to the light given his migraines.  David Pittman returned to practice as did Haloti Ngata although both were limited.  Rob Abiamiri sat out.

There is very little to report from today’s practice in terms of notable and interesting action on the practice field.  Duvol Thompson made a nice play to pick off a long pass down the sideline from Steve McNair.  Corey Ivy also made a very athletic play on an overthrown pass intended for Quinn Sypniewski and came away with a pick.  Kyle Boller and Devard Darling connected on a long pass that featured Darling running a streak just outside the right hash marks.

Generally speaking, despite the half speed pacing of practice, the team is focused and anxious to compete as is the coaching staff.

It’s time for a new chapter.  We’ll break down the game in its entirety on Saturday.  Until then, see you in Lot H.
